Inspirational: Music with a Message!
Camille Bloom, professional touring musician and experienced educator, is ready to perform and speak at your school!
Nationally recognized on both television and radio for her music, Camille is a dynamic speaker and performer who uses original music as a vehicle to connect with kids all over the nation. With five years of teaching experience, Camille blends popular music with a message, merging her own styles of acoustic pop with important topics about self-esteem, drug addiction, and coping with family trouble. Many of her songs were inspired by former students.
The song "17" is an upbeat pop song that addresses the heartbreak that can occur when a high school relationship goes too far. "Hey Mister" is a darker song written about one student's struggles with suicide - and the message that there are other ways to cope with anxiety and depression.
Camille can address many of today's hottest teen issues with finesse and class, bringing positive messages to light and encouraging students to make smart decisions so that they may be successful in the future. She speaks deeply and emotionally about her own experience, growing up poor in a single parent home and withstanding many divorces between her two parents. Struggling to make her way amidst the many divorces, alcoholism, drug addiction, and mental illness in her family, Camille turned to school as her savior. She put all of her energies toward positive activities that made her feel good, and soon she found herself a standout athlete and musician. Camille garnered many awards as a basketball player including first team all city and all state - and received a scholarship to play basketball at Whitworth College. She then moved on to become the only college graduate in her family and used her education to begin teaching high school English in Seattle.
Throughout her childhood, Camille also wrote poetry and music as a means of expression, a way to feel heard. She began playing music in Seattle and was soon garnering national attention. It was then that she had the idea to combine the two things she was most passionate about, playing music and reaching kids. Take this opportunity to listen to some of Camille's music and you too will be moved.
Camille Bloom does not just talk to kids. She impacts them.
Camille Bloom is flexible with the content of her performances and offers two major curriculums: entertainment/inspiration and education/music industry.
Included in Camille's curriculum will be the following:
- Ways to cope with peer pressure
- Positive outlets for anxiety & stress
- Decision making and outcomes
